The key to Joker Poker strategy is understanding that the Joker changes everything. When you hold a Joker, your decision tree is completely different from a Joker-free hand. The general principle: always keep the Joker, and build around it toward the highest-value hand possible.
With the Joker — Hold Priority Order:

Natural Royal Flush, Five of a Kind, Straight Flush — hold all five cards, you're already at the top.

Four of a Kind or better — hold all five. Don't gamble a guaranteed big win.

4-card Royal Flush draw — hold the
4 cards plus the Joker, discard the fifth. The Royal Flush payout justifies the risk.

Full House, Flush, Straight — hold all five. These are solid paying hands, don't break them up.

Three of a Kind — hold the three matching cards plus the Joker, discard the fifth card.

4-card Straight Flush draw — hold those 4 cards with the Joker, discard the odd card out.

One pair — hold the pair plus the Joker, discard the remaining two cards.

No strong draw — hold only the Joker and discard all four other cards. The Joker alone gives you strong redraw equity.
Without the Joker — Hold Priority Order:

Any complete paying hand (Royal Flush down to Kings or Better pair) — hold all five cards.

4-card Royal Flush draw — hold the four high suited cards, discard the fifth.

Three of a Kind, Two Pair — hold the paying cards, discard the rest.

4-card Straight Flush draw — hold the four suited consecutive cards, discard the fifth.

High pair (Kings or Aces) — hold the pair, discard the other three cards.

3-card Royal Flush draw — hold the three high suited cards, discard the other two.

No strong draw — discard all five and redraw a fresh hand. Sometimes a clean slate is the right call.
The Golden Rule
Always play maximum coins (5 per hand). The Natural Royal Flush pays 800x per coin at lower bets but jumps to 4,000 total coins at max bet — that's a disproportionate bonus that makes max-coin play the only mathematically correct choice on phsaya.
